Valley Revival

It's been two years since Hurricane Helene devastated our beloved region of Western North Carolina, which brought unimaginable loss. However, this painting is not about that. This piece was painted to symbolize and celebrate the beautiful rebuilding, resilience, and revival that has come to our region since. With each new drive through mountain communities like this one, you can see the revival. Crops have been replanted and are growing, barns are repaired and houses rebuilt, even flowers spring up.

 It all brings hope.

One of the things I'll take with me after living through Helene is the astounding will of the people who didn't give up. How impactful! That's such a part of life isn't it? Sometimes  we are dealt terribly hard things. In those times, it's the " I'll not give up" in the hearts of some people that deserves to be celebrated. Well done, Western North Carolina! You are a world-class community of people, and you'll always hold a place of honor in my heart. 

"Valley Revival," is a one of a kind original painting inspired by the work of a local photographer who resides in  the Barnardsville valley of WNC. She has seen the rebuilding and revival of our region first-hand .  It is painted on a deep set canvas panel and is full of texture and expressive color.
