I would joyfully declare that there are few things more calming to sit among than a Blue Ridge sunset. The warm tones in the sky and the settling awareness that there most certainly is a creator behind each breathtaking sunset brings a comfort to the heart. Roan Mountain is in my top three views of Appalachia. I love the rolling hills and the boulders poking out along the trail. It's truly a unique sight. 

I so appreciate the thick brush strokes that a painting study offers. Often, studies are painted in one short studio setting, capturing the main idea of a landscape or subject. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.
